Question:
Agranulocytosis is a lowering of the white blood cell count that requires monitoring via bloodwork. A large number of drugs have been associated with agranulocytosis, including antiseizure, antibiotic, and antipsychotic medications, such as Clozaril. All clients receiving Clozaril must get baseline bloodwork and be enrolled in the Clozaril National Registry, which records adverse impacts from taking Clozaril and bloodwork results.
