Question:
The basic parts of a neuron are the axon, dendrites, and cell body. The cell body contains the organelles where metabolic activities of the cell occur. Nerve signals from another neuron is received by the dendrites which then transmit the signal to the cell body. The axon carries the signal away from the cell body and transmits it to another neuron through the axon terminal. The axon terminal releases neurotransmitters which mediate nerve signaling.
