Question:

What bones does the clavicle articulate with?

A manubrium & scapula
explanation

The clavicle articulates with the manubrium and the scapula. The manubrium is part of the sternum, so the joint formed with the clavicle is called the sternoclavicular joint. This is a synovial saddle joint that permits protraction, retraction, elevation and depression. The lateral or distal end of the clavicle forms that acromioclavicular (AC) joint with the acromion process of the scapula. It is also a synovial joint, but with flat articular surfaces making it a ‘plane’ joint.
