What is the area called where the brachial plexus passes through the scapula?

The scapular or suprascapular notch is the area where the brachial plexus passes through the superior border of the scapula. It is anterior and medial at the base of the coracoid process. The Acromion process is the highest point of the scapula and shoulder girdle. A fossa is a hollow or depressed area on a bone. The Glenoid fossa or cavity is the shallow depression on the scapula where the head of the humerus articulates. The Subscapular fossa is the shallow depression on the anterior scapula where the Subscapularis originates.
