Question:
Acupuncture has been shown to be successful in helping clients reduce or cease smoking. It is a nonpharmacological alternative therapy used for many other medical conditions, as well. Common contraindications to acupuncture include pacemaker placement, seizure disorder, anticoagulant or antiplatelet therapy, bleeding disorders, drug or alcohol intoxication, infections skin disorders and/or diseases, and sometimes pregnancy. Hypertension and arrhythmias are not contraindications to acupuncture.
