New drivers caught drinking and driving will receive an immediate driver’s license suspension at the roadside for 24 hours and, if convicted, will face a fine of up to $500 and will receive a suspension period as per the Novice Driver Escalating Sanctions scheme. For the first occurrence, you will be suspended for 30 days.
