Question:
Boot attestation requires that systems record and measure the boot process, and subsequently verify to a system that the process was secure. A related concept, secure boot, permits solely trusted software to operate through previously hashed values to guarantee security. The BOOTP and BIOS do not play a role in this process. Instead, the Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) firmware supports both boot attestation and secure boot.
