What is the CBEST?
The California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST) was created to evaluate an educator’s competency in writing, reading, and arithmetic. Each of the 50 multiple-choice questions in the Reading, Mathematics, and Writing sections includes two essays. Test takers have the option of taking one, two, or all three portions. Nevada also accepts the CBEST exam.
When are the CBEST test dates?
Monday through Saturday testing slots are available all year long for the computer-based CBEST. The only exclusions are a few holidays. You must complete the online registration process in order to find out when your CBEST session will be.
You will be given permission to log back into your account and arrange the test day that works best for you when your testing information and payment have been completed.
However, the CBEST exam schedule on paper is a little less flexible. The paper-based CBEST is just like other standardized examinations like the SAT and ACT, which are only offered on specific occasions. The CBEST exam dates for 2022–2023 are:

What are the CBEST registration dates?
There are no set dates for the computer-based CBEST registration process due to the appointment-based nature of computer-based testing. But, processing your registration may take up to three days. You should give yourself a few days to arrange and reserve a test date. Since availability is decided on a first-come, first-served basis, registering for the test as soon as possible can also help guarantee you obtain the appointment you desire.
Typically, 4 to 5 weeks prior to the exam day, registration for the paper-based test ends. If slots are still available, candidates can still register after this date, but they will have to pay a late charge of either $18 or $35, based on whether they enroll by the late registration deadline or the emergency registration deadline.

Where can I take the CBEST tests?
The Pearson website has a convenient and user-friendly search tool that enables test-takers to choose among CBEST testing locations in their area if they’re taking a computer-based exam.
You can find the testing centers nearest to you by visiting the Pearson website, using the engine, and entering the exam you wish to take along with your zip code or city name. The website also offers a list of military bases with testing facilities for service members.
During the registration process, you will be asked to choose your preferred test date as well as a broad testing location (for example, the Bakersfield or Fresno area). You will be matched with a testing location in your neighborhood after your registration has been verified.
Remember that only California administers the paper-based test, and certain testing locations do not provide the emergency registration option or all of the paper-based testing dates.
How much does CBEST cost?
The CBEST is $41 in price. In addition to the initial price, candidates who are taking the computer-based exam must pay a $61 CBT service charge. Additionally, a $35 emergency registration cost or an additional $18 late test registration fee may be charged.
Above are CBEST test dates and locations for 2022-2023. Hope the above information will be useful to you and help you soon make an effective study plan.
